Pedal the Cause

I’m proud to be riding in support of Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. This event is more than the region’s largest cancer fundraiser—it’s a community, a celebration, and a movement driven by hope, courage, and determination to end cancer for good.

I ride in honor of my wife, Anna. In July 2015, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in her right breast, and just weeks later, stage 1 in her left. At 36 years old, with three young kids, it was a battle we never expected—but one we faced head-on.

Anna approached her treatment with incredible strength and positivity. Her oncologist was always amazed at how well she carried herself through it all. Even in the midst of her own fight, she found a way to lift others up. She created a “Smile Jar” for patients undergoing chemotherapy—filled with stickers, prayers, jokes, and small moments of joy for those who needed it most. That gesture speaks volumes about who she is and her desire to make the world brighter, even during the toughest times.

Today, Anna is cancer-free and continues her journey through post-treatment and regular checkups. We are beyond grateful.
