Pedal the Cause

Worrying does not change facts, make them easier, or help in any way.  It actually only makes it worse; negative thoughts bring harm to your body and mind. Does this mean that I am without sadness or disappointment? No. It means I am aware of options. 

The truth is….It takes practice.  It takes practice to get out of bed each morning, say out loud, and truly believe… 

“Thank You”... “Thank you for the positive I choose to see, the positive I choose to think about, and the positive focus I try to bring into each day. “Thank you for the ability to stand on my own two feet, walk, think, process, volunteer, bike, work, and make a difference for someone else.

For me, aging is a gift. One that was in question 27 years ago from an aggressive cancer diagnosis at age 37. Triple Negative Breast Cancer with lymph node involvement. To this day, I continue to stay informed, educated, and active in the cancer community, as I know that cancer has a mind of its own. More importantly, I stay educated to help my family and my community.

Unfortunately, no family or friend has been untouched by Cancer. Cancer is a disease that has broken families, broken hearts, and broken lives. Currently, my heart is filled with sadness for personal friends and family members who are fighting for their lives every minute of every day, from a cancer diagnosis. 

Through cancer research, staying informed and educated has allowed me to educate genetic mutation carriers with resources on how to stop the genetic link by using in-vitro to extract the BRAC gene before procreation.  This amazing information is possible from research, all through generous donors. Cancer research through donor funds has made a large difference.
