Turning survival into support for others

Why I Ride

I am an 8-year metastatic breast cancer survivor, and I ride because I know firsthand that research saves lives.

Last year, I rode Pedal the Cause, and I’m back on the bike again this year. I’m here today because of advances in cancer research—especially the development of Herceptin. Without it, I would not be here.

I ride for the researchers who refuse to stop searching, for those still fighting, and for those we have lost. Most of all, I ride so that the next person facing cancer has more options, more hope, and more time.

Research gave me time. Now I ride to help give that gift to someone else.
