Pedal the Cause

While Pedal The Cause is mainly designed as a biking event, this year I have chosen to RUN as my way of raising money toward the cure for cancer.  As part of this incredible weekend event we hear from survivors, researchers, doctors, and inspirational individuals, all of whom share a common goal - TO ELIMINATE CANCER!

Unfortunately, almost all of us have been affected by this horrible disease. In my running group, alone, my friends Roger and Pete are both undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. As many of you know, my father passed away from pancreatic cancer just over a year ago, and life-long friend, Cheri Fox, passed away from breast cancer too early, at 69.   And, dear friend, Bruce Schneider is greatly miss by his wife, Pam, and his children, Erika , Josh, Ali and Lindsay, and so many close friends.    

Our team-Greg’s Fancy Fox’s- started in honor of dear friend, Greg Fox, and each year I participate in his memory.  We have all lost friends and family members to cancer, and there are many we know currently fighting the battle.  For me, I will also participate in honor of Sanny Moore, Tammy Millster, Tracy Moore, and others courageously undergoing treatment for cancer.

 Great progress is being made due to the generous help from many of you. So, let’s keep it going…!!!   Please contribute to my run this year.  We cannot do it without the funds for research and learning at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Children’s Hospital.
