Pedal the Cause

I am riding in remembrance of my father, Oval L. Miller Sr., who courageously fought a two-year battle with cancer before passing on October 19, 2024. My father was an ambassador of hope and a true vehicle of change. For more than 40 years, he served as CEO of a Substance Abuse Program and as a vendor for the Department of Mental Health (ADA) Alcohol and Drug Division. Through his work, he touched countless lives affected by alcohol and substance abuse, issues that know no boundaries of gender, race, or economic status.

Having once walked the difficult road of addiction himself, he dedicated his life to ensuring others would not have to endure the same struggles alone. His legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and service.

Our family is deeply grateful to Siteman Cancer Center for their sensitivity, expertise, and attentive care, which supported my father and us through his transition.

Pedal the Cause is hope, community and the region’s most impactful movement to end cancer. I am proud to participate and to play a part in funding groundbreaking research at our local, top-ranked institutions that is changing the way we treat and cure cancers.
