Pedal the Cause

Forty-five years ago, my father, Floyd Kearney,  passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.  When he was first diagnosed in 1974, doctors gave him a year to live, but with the help of innovative treatments, excellent care from the V.A. and a supportive family, he lived for another 4 1/2 years-giving us the blessed gift of time.  The image of my dad 's strength and courage as he battled this disease continues to inspire me as I conduct my own life. I 'm riding Pedal the Cause for all the dads, mothers and children who are battling their own cancer fight and look forward to joining our St. Louis Community in advancing cutting edge research and healthcare to give others the gift of time.
