Pedal the Cause

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

Please support my efforts by donating to my fundraiser, and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will fund lifesaving cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Research touches the lives of cancer patients and families in multiple direct and indirect ways. I have been reviewing research proposals for the Siteman Cancer Center Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee Behavioral Science Subcommittee for over 10 years and can attest to the wide variety of important studies that span cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship for both children and adults. 

I am thankful to Pedal the Cause and Siteman Investment Program for funding my research to understand how best to communicate cancer risks associated with alcohol consumption given the relative risks, socio-cultural influences, and inability to conduct randomized trials to provide causal evidence. Providing pilot funding to researchers significantly enhances our ability to obtain important preliminary data and compete more effectively for larger grants. 

This year I'll be volunteering at a refresh table to support the riders.
