Pedal the Cause

I am proud to join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. In 2013, my mom passed away from breast cancer. Throughout the whole process she amazed me with her bravery, courage, and love. Not only was she battling cancer, but she also had Multiple Sclerosis for over a decade, which greatly limited her mobility and strength to the point of needing a power wheelchair. Throughout her battle with cancer and MS and all of the challenges, symptoms, and side effects that come with the battle, she always found a way to be there for me and my sister. Seeing a person you love go through the battle with cancer is gut wrenching, but also so inspiring. Unfortunately, cancer has continued to affect people the people I know and love. I am inspired the battle by my mom started and everyone I know who has faced it. 

Through the Pedal community and the support of loved ones, I am motivated to continue the fight against cancer my mom and many others have started, in the hopes of saving the lives of others battling the awful disease. My ride and fundraising are are one small sacrifice in the battle against cancer, but my wish, and that of the entire Joy Riders team and Pedal community is that our combined and continual sacrifices with lead to further life saving cancer treatments, and eventually no one or their families have to go through the battle of fighting cancer.
