Pedal the Cause

2 years ago my friend Adam was diagnosed with leukemia.  He went from a healthy 8th grader playing baseball one week to sick and fighting for his life the next week.  It was unbelievable watching everything he had to go through- bone marrow biospies, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, so many medicines, and so many sticks, scans and other tests.  He was so sick.  When he was a few weeks he - he started to lose his hair. He missed our 8th grade year. He is doing well now and a sophmore in hs. He is still going through treatment- but will finish at the end of this year.

I met my friend Sophie last year- she is now a senior at Althoff Catholic with me. She is the manager of our Varsity soccer team and inspires all of us. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma when she was 13 and now at 17 is still battling it.  She comes to school and soccer games with a smile on her face, encouraging us, no matter what she is facing herself.  She leads the Glennon Youth board at our high school and I'm honored to be on that with her as well.  

I am riding in Sophie and Adam's honor- raising money for research to find a cure so that no one else has to go though what Adam and Sophie have gone through.   Please donate if you can- no amount is too small.  I'll be honored to be riding for them on Sunday September 20th.
