Pedal the Cause

It's hard to believe this is my 14th year joining Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer.

This year, my husband and I will ride with two of our daughters who are 14 and 16. We will cycle 10 miles together in honor of so many loved ones who have battled cancer.

Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

We ride in honor of so many: Rizwan's mother Siddiqua Hasan who lost her battle in 1996. Rizwan's aunt, my uncle, my college roommate Anne, and the list sadly gets longer each year. We ride on Team Clare honoring Clare, who rode her final Pedal the Cause 16 years ago while in stage IV cancer.

We have witnessed firsthand the emotional and physical toll cancer takes on patients and those who love them. Participating in Pedal the Cause allows us to honor their courage while helping fund research that can provide hope for future generations.
