In Loving Memory - Gerry Grus

Gerard H. “Gerry” Grus passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Born in Sullivan, Missouri, to Joseph M. Grus and Alice G. Grus (née Brune), he carried with him a strong sense of duty, responsibility, and commitment. He was devoted to his seven brothers and sisters. Beloved brother of Patty (Sherman) Pollard; and preceded in death by siblings Rose Auth, Betty Unnerstall, Cleo Pedrotti, Leon (Myrtle) Grus, Clarita (Don) Vaughn, and Richard Grus. He valued stability, practicality, and responsibility throughout his life.

On May 7, 1966, he married Rosalie (née Phillips), and together they shared more than 59 years of marriage. They raised two children, Joanne Collins and Christopher (Lisa) Grus. He worked hard to ensure his family had security, opportunity, and education. He loved his six grandchildren — Madeleine Collins, Shane Collins, Isaac Collins, Jordan Grus, Kaleb Grus, and Lucas Grus — and cherished time spent with his many nieces and nephews.  He enjoyed spending time on the family farm where he grew up — a place that always felt like home to him.

He devoted his time to business and practical work, supporting the office- and business-form needs of local companies. His work was central in his life, and he believed deeply in hard work, reliability, and providing for his family.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, he carried with him a lifelong sense of discipline and order. He took pride in planning carefully, remaining steady, and creating security for those he loved.

Gerry made his home in Manchester, Missouri, where he lived for more than 50 years.

Visitation will be held at Schrader Funeral Home, Ballwin, Missouri, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. A final viewing and funeral service will be held at Schrader Funeral Home on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Private burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Premier Warriors cycling team for Pedal the Cause, supporting the fight to end cancer.

He will be remembered with gratitude for the stability he helped create and for the foundation he worked to provide.
