Pedal the Cause

In 2013, I lost my mother, Middy, and my former husband, Peter, to cancer. Being a caregiver for both gave me an up-close look at their battles, and many times I felt powerless in being able to take away their pain or struggle. Soon after their passings, I realized that I may not have been able to help them fully then, but I could do something now through raising awareness and funds for cancer research. Twelve years later, it is amazing to see the advancements that Siteman Cancer Center has made in early diagnosis and treatments, especially for lung cancer. Knowing that research needs to continue, I am committed to the Pedal the Cause effort, as I believe what I couldn't do for Middy and Peter then, I am able to do now. 

Siteman Cancer Center is one of the top researchers contributing to lifesaving breakthroughs. I believe there are future cures just around the corner, but to get there, we need to continue to support these efforts. The Pedal the Cause fundraising event is an excellent opportunity to make a contribution and a difference. It is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family, and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.
