Pedal the Cause

Elliot Archer is a disabled public historian and grant writer, working across both social services and arts/culture organizations. After being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and POTS as a result of two COVID-19 infections, he advocates for the disability community, and that includes people suffering from cancer. He hopes to see a cancer cure within his lifetime, and is proud to support Pedal the Cause's mission.

In December 2025, Elliot adopted Cherokee, a 12-year-old black cat who has feline asthma and digestive problems. Elliot has been extremely passionate about animals, especially cats, since he was young and has always wanted to take care of an older, disabled cat. Cherokee has helped Elliot navigate his diagnoses while also helping him gain even more empathy. This fundraiser for Pedal the Cause is Elliot and Cherokee's way of giving back to those going through cancer and the researchers working towards the cure.
