Pedal the Cause

This is my 5th year riding in Pedal the Cause, and it’s something I look forward to every year. Cancer is personal for me. I take care of people every day who are living with cancer or surviving it, and I’ve seen firsthand just how much better treatments — and the research behind them — can make.

Like so many of us, it also hits home in my own family. Several years ago, I lost my uncle to multiple myeloma just days before I would have seen him again for the first time in years. I can only hope that with the funds raised through this organization, someday others won’t have to go through the same experience.

One of the things I really love about Pedal the Cause is that 100% of the money we raise goes straight to cancer research. Nothing is taken out for overhead. On top of that, every dollar we raise brings in about 13 more dollars from outside funding — so even small donations have a big impact.

I’m not out here racing or trying to break records — I ride because I believe in this cause, and because together we can make a real difference. If you’re able to support me this year, know that every mile I ride and every dollar you give is helping push research forward and bring hope to families facing cancer.
