Loss of NIH funding for scientific research hits hard!

I am excited to invite you to support our upcoming cancer fundraiser, Pedal the Cause, which aims to raise vital funds for cancer research and treatment.  Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our goal of providing hope and healing to those who need it most. Your generosity will be used to support cutting-edge research, innovative treatments, and essential patient care services. Please consider making a donation to our cancer fundraiser today.

The current administration of the United State has stopped a lot of funding to science(as well as in other areas). Fundraising is crucial to keep cancer research labs open and to continue clinical trials.

Siteman Cancer Center funded research:

  • Breast and ovarian cancer development, chemoradiation therapy for cervical cancer, immunotherapy for leukemia and enhancing the well-being of family caregivers of cancer hospice patients are included in these projects.
  • Therapies for lymphoma and leukemia as well as improving outcomes for brain tumors in children are included in these projects.

Clinical trial: improving the efficacy of a personalized cancer vaccine for patients with glioblastoma, which is the deadliest brain tumor in adults.      Clinical trial: evaluating the efficacy and safety of one week of radiotherapy versus three weeks for breast cancer patients, with the ultimate goal of  .   .  ....................reducing treatment time without negatively affecting patient outcome.                                                                                                                                            Clinical trial will test a novel immunotherapy treatment for metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer.

5 new pediatric cancer research initiatives at Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

  • Acute lymphoblastic leukemia
  • enhanced treatment for acute myeloid leukemia
  • collaboration with the McDonnell Pediatric Cancer Research Center to accelerate exceptional research projects that currently have NIH funding yet remain underfunded.

Stock donations and Donor-Advised Fund- When processing a DAF grant through a charitable giving account, search for the Pedal the Cause by tax ID (27-2233336). In the “notes” section, indicate the Pedal the Cause fundraiser you want to support.
