Pedal the Cause

In 2019 my wife Kathy was diagnosed and treated for a rare form of thymus cancer at Siteman.  We both thought that the care she received from the physicians, nurses, and staff was exceptional.  We were especially grateful for the advice and assistance we received from Dr. Nancy Bartlett, the remarkably skillful surgery performed by Dr. Alex Patterson, the follow-up proton radiation guided by Dr. Shahead Badiyan, and her oncologist, Dr. Salama Waqar, an empathetic and knowledgeable physician. 

Kathy passed away in November, 2025.  Our family is so grateful for the additional six years of love we were able to share with her, and we believe that those six years were due in no small part to the care she received at Siteman.

My ride is dedicated, first of all, to my lovely wife Kathy, but also in thanksgiving for all of the dedicated and compassionate caregivers at Siteman. They made a difference for our family as they have, and will continue to do, for many other families.

Also, a special thanks for the prayers and support we received from family and friends.  We felt their love, and we continue to feel it.  That makes a big difference.
