I believe God made us neighbors for a reason. I’ll never forget when Tim and Adria Moore moved in across the street. They were newlyweds in a neighborhood full of families with kids, and honestly, I thought, “That’s nice, but we’re in such different stages of life—I’ll probably never really know them.” But of course, God always has a plan at work long before we see it.
Fast forward a few years: the Moores welcomed their first baby… then another. Suddenly, their two boys became everyone’s bundles of joy. Their laughter and energy filled our street, and their family became such a blessing to our neighborhood.
That’s why the news hit us so hard. One day, Tim went to urgent care with a headache. Less than a week later, he had undergone brain surgery to remove a tumor. Soon after, we learned the devastating diagnosis—cancer. How could this happen to such a beautiful, growing family?
And yet, through it all, God has been present. The Moores’ faith, strength, and positivity have been unwavering—a testament to their reliance on the Lord. Their journey has drawn our community together in ways we never expected, and we continue to rally around them with love and prayer.
This year, I’m riding 21 miles in Pedal the Cause —in honor of the Moore family and in support of the life-changing cancer research this event funds. Every dollar raised brings us closer to better treatments, more hope, and more time for families like the Moores.
