Pedal the Cause

On September 20, Mark and I will join our team of good friends for our second year riding 30 miles for Pedal the Cause.

For us, this ride is personal.

We’ll be riding in memory of Jerry, Joyce, Felicia, Dena and Mark’s mom, Vera -people we love and miss deeply. They fought their battles with courage, but their goodbyes came far too soon. We carry their memories with us and will think of them with every mile.

And we’ll be riding in celebration of those who are still here, still fighting, and still inspiring us. We’ll celebrate my mom, along with Cindi, Rebecca Parks Barb H., and Mark’s coworker Michelle. Each of them has their own story, their own strength, and their own reason for us to be grateful. 

Thirty miles is a long way, but when you have people you love riding alongside you in spirit, every mile has meaning.

So on September 20, we’ll ride for the ones we miss, for the ones we celebrate, and for hope that someday cancer will no longer take the people we love.
