Pedal the Cause

I am incredibly proud to join Pedal the Cause for my third year and ride 52 miles in the fight against cancer.

This year, I’m riding with some very special people in my heart.

I’m riding for sparkly warrior Nora Bunn, who bravely fought DIPG and passed away on March 6, 2025, at just 7 years old. Nora’s strength, courage, and beautiful spirit are a reminder of why we must continue to push for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for childhood cancer.

I’m also riding in memory of Finlay Nayler, who passed away at just 17 years old after battling rhabdomyosarcoma. His life was far too short, and I hope this ride can help honor his memory and the impact he had on those who loved him.

And I’m riding for my father, Gene Held, whose fight with cancer has touched my family in a deeply personal way.

I’m riding in memory of my father-in-law, Rand Wonio, who lost his battle with melanoma in 2015. His memory remains an important part of our family, and I ride in his honor.

And this year, I’m also riding for Sarah Bishop, a newly diagnosed high school junior who is now facing cancer at far too young an age. Sarah and my daughter, Maddy, have played many years of Irish music together and traveled to Ireland together. Watching someone so young and talented face this diagnosis is a powerful reminder that cancer can touch any family, at any age.

Every mile I ride is for them.

Every mile I ride represents someone who has fought, someone we have lost, someone still fighting, and the families who stand beside them.
