Pedal the Cause

I am proud to once again join Pedal the Cause in the fight against cancer. Pedal the Cause is more than the region's largest cancer fundraiser. It's a way of life, a celebration, a family and a movement fueled by the courage to end cancer.

Nine years ago my husband Jeff passed away from glioblastoma, an incurable form of brain cancer. Incurable for now. That’s why I ride, to help raise money for more cancer research. He was able to be in 3 clinical trials in the 3 years after he was diagnosed. We all know someone who has been treated for cancer. 

This May my cousin’s husband passed away at age 55, leaving behind his wife and 4 beautiful daughters. It started as prostate cancer and just kept spreading. So I am riding in Kurt Steven’s memory this September. I hate that my brother, and our cousin Laura, and I have all lost our spouses to cancer.
