Pedal the Cause

This Pedal the Cause bike event is in honor of my mother, Mary Louise Walker and mother-in-law, Edith Gaffner.  My mother is on an ten-year battle with ovarian cancer and in memory of my father, the late Dar Walker who was an inspirational caregiver of my mother for many years of her battle with cancer.  My mother-in-law is battling Colon Cancer for a number of years.  Both have been getting treatment at Siteman Cancer Centers.

Together with the IMPACT Strategies Team, we will be supporting each other in the ride on September 20th.  

The mission of Pedal the Cause is to provide critical funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital through our annual cycling challenge. It is our hope that research funded by Pedal the Cause will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer.  So far, the organization has funded 255 Cancer Research Projects with the over $50 million raised to date.

We will be riding the Metric Century Ride at 62 miles along the bluffs of the Mississippi river and Historic St. Charles County.

It takes world-class research to create a world without cancer. Please help me in this journey by donating to my ride and give with confidence knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly to accelerating cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital.
